Bullfighting

Béziers is to be seen and heard.
A great clamour fills the town. Olé! This is Béziers during the August feria.
Corridas, an invitation to beauty and light.

In more than one hundred years of uninterrupted activity, the Plaza de Béziers has experienced some great and beautiful moments which have made their mark on the history of bullfighting in France. Famous toreros and ganaderias have succeeded one another over the century, as much in the individual corridas and novilladas as in the ferias which started in this the “French Seville” in summer 1968.

Colours and fervour are palpable all over town. This is Béziers, where the days and the nights answer one another with music and dance.
An encounter out of time in the heart of the summer!

Rugby

Few French rugby clubs today can boast a record of achievement as comprehensive, as brilliant and as popular as the one that is cloaked in the colours of the city's sports association, the Association Sportive Biterroise: blood red and azure blue. The club, created in 1911 following the merger of two local teams, is already one of the oldest in mainland France. But it is also one of the most victorious, with eleven French championship titles earned through years of hard, sweaty but exhilarating struggle between 1961 and 1984. The ASB (now the ASB-H for Hérault) is ranked third in the pantheon of French rugby, just behind the two "greats", the Stade de Toulouse and the Stade de France. Over the years, since the creation of the French rugby team, the ASB has also provided 55 players to wear the national shirt and the colours of French rugby on pitches throughout the world.
